This poem was inspired by conversations I have had over the years with my lovely wife, Anne.\u00a0 <\/span>Often, we talk about how God brings people of distinctively different backgrounds and personalities together even though they have common interests.\u00a0 <\/span>So, this poem is dedicated to everyone who is made uniquely different by God.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cI am not like you,\u201d we often do say<\/p>\n

And it\u2019s true, for I am created in such a different way.<\/p>\n

From the things that make me laugh to the things that make me cry<\/p>\n

It\u2019s hard to understand at times and I often ask: \u201cWhy\u201d?<\/p>\n

You say you are a talker and I am a thinker as we process our thoughts<\/p>\n

Glad we can play off our strengths and not act like robots.<\/p>\n

You are endowed with such high energy clearly to see<\/p>\n

While I am content with doing much less activity.<\/p>\n

You love to verbalize the emotions or feelings you share,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While I enjoy writing mine, it doesn\u2019t mean I don\u2019t care.<\/p>\n

You like to go to bed early, and I like to go to bed late.<\/p>\n

It isn\u2019t something that we have to debate.<\/p>\n

Your priorities in life while somewhat different to mine<\/p>\n

Allows us to let our unique lights shine.<\/p>\n

Yet, I am grateful that I am not like you,<\/p>\n

Because that is how God wired us two.<\/p>\n

So, let\u2019s celebrate our unique design by the Master<\/p>\n

He molds us as if working with plaster.<\/p>\n

And the next time we say: \u201cI am not like you\u201d<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s remember that we need each other to<\/p>\n

Strive for greater achievements in the future as one.<\/p>\n

Hearing in the end from our Master, \u201cWell Done.\u201d<\/p>\n
